As monsoon rainfall continues to create havoc across parts of north India, the national capital, New Delhi, is evacuating hundreds of residents from areas adjoining the Yamuna river. As per reports, water levels in the Yamuna have crossed the 208 meters danger mark and swelled to 208.66 meters breaking a 45-year-old record.

But scientists are warning that precious resource is disappearing at an alarming rate.
